Livni Gets More Time
Israel President, Shimon Peres, has granted Kadima leader Livini with two more weeks to form a new government.
As this article states, the request for more time by Livini shows that she is having difficulty getting Shas into the government. It also accurately observes that if new elections were held the Likud Party would come out way ahead.
At this time, with a new American Administration about to be elected, with Hamas solidifying its hold on Gaza, and with Iran moving closer to acquiring nuclear weapons shouldn't the Israeli people have the opportunity to express their preferences at the polls?
What do you think?
Absolutely. But this what the "appeasement " Kadima government does not want. They know that new elections would be a referendom on the appeasement policies of Sharon/Olmert/Barak. Most Israelis now know tha danger of the false delusion of "Roadmap" appeasement. The Palestinian Authority Representative to Jordan, Abbas Zaki, said in an interview last Spring that the PLO has not changed it's Phased Plan strategy one iota. And that their ultimate goal is to drive the Jews into the sea.. A "Palestinian state" is just a tactic they are using against Israel.
