The Saudis are engaging in a two=pronged assault on the free countries of the world: oil money and Sha'ria. With their great amount of oil, the Saudis are attempting to ransom every bit of free speech, free economy, and free society that they are able to. That is why the free world must become independent of Middle East oil resources. Iran is doing the same exact thing, except from a different angle: Saudis are Sunnis and Iranians are Shi'ias. Sha'ria can be a draconian legal system as it is practiced in Saudi Arabia. In reality, Sha'ria can be a more moderate system as it is practiced in Morocco. Of concern to all of us who live in the West is the fact that the practitioners of Islam in its extreme form desire to convert the entire human race to their way of living. Such fundamentalists comprise perhaps 10-15% of the entire approximately 1.25-1.5 billion practicing Muslims in the world today. The Saudis contain a large number of extremists in their population, especially in the highest level of their hierarchy--those close to the royal family. We, in the West, need to be vigilant and prudent regarding any negotiating with those who would try to dominate us, and that includes the Saudis.
