This explanation of the law of disproportionality in regard to the present Israeli military operation in Gaza truly elicidates the weak attempts by American commentators--Jewish, Christian, and Muslim--on CNN and Fox to inform the public as to what Israel is attempting to do at this time in Gaza. My reference to religion is made intentionally because the war going on now for ten days is predominantly a war between Jews and Muslims, Israel and Hamas. Hamas leaders frequently quote the Qu'ran to bolster their acts of aggression against Israel. Their interpretations of the Qu'ran supposedly justify their actions. If the Qu'ran is a holy book, I wonder how its text could justify indiscriminate bombing of civilian areas in a neighboring sovereign country. Is there ever a situation in which intentional murder of civilians is justified? Israel plainly honors and reveres life; that is why the Israeli military has taken special measures to help protect the civilians in this present conflict. I would very much like to hear more from Dr. Gold on this aspect of the continual discussion regarding "collateral victims" of the fighting in Gaza. There is a law of unintended consequences relative to human activities. How would Dr. Gold utilize this law to help the public better comprehend what is happening to the civilians in Gaza?
