Hamas members are not militants; they are terrorists. Human life means nothing to them. When they stand behind human shields or fire in the presence of civilians, they are still targets for Israel soldiers: this is Jewish law. According to halacha, one who uses a human being to protect him-herself while attempting to kill someone else is committing that human shield as an extension of him-or herself. Accordingly, the person(s) being threatened have the right to defend him-or herself (themselves). Today event was horrible to say the least. Hamas was fully responsible for the deaths of the civilians who were in the terrorists' proximity when the terrorists were firing mortars at the Israeli military personnel.
