He Wanted To Protect People
One Jerusalem mourns the death of Dvir Emanuelof, the first Israeli military casualty in the war against Hamas.
YNET reports that a childhood friend said of this Golan Staff-Sergeant said, "he knew he was fighting for a great cause. He was confident and had faith in the military, in his commanders and in this country. He wasn't afraid. He wasn't gung-ho to fight, but it was important for him to protect people."
Dvir was a cousin of one of One Jerusalem's volunteers in Israel. May his memory be a blessing.
This war is a just war. Dvir and all of his fellow soldiers are deserving of great honor and our utmost respect. Dvir is a martyr for the Jewish people and a hero in every affirmative sense of the word. As a kohen, I will pray for his soul that it will reach great, great heights.
