Israel Votes: Who Won? Netanyahu and Jerusalem
Over four million Israelis braved substantial wind and rain as they cast their ballots in Israel's national election.

Election night reminded us of 1996 when Benjamin Netanyahu defeated Shimon Peres. Like 1996, this year the Right or National camp roared back into power in dramatic fashion.

Even the Left wing press spent little time promoting Livni and Kadima as winners. Winners govern and the decision on who will govern rests with the Right. In the new Knesset the Right will increase their presence in the Knesset from 50 to over 64 seats. This dramatic rejection of the ways of Kadima puts Benjamin Netanyahu and Likud in the drivers seat.

While the final vote totals will not be known for days there is nearly universal acceptance of the fact that the next Prime Minister of Israel will be Benjamin Netanyahu. Last night, we had the pleasure of congratulating Netanyahu on his electoral victory. He spent little time socializing and it is clear that his objective is to set up a majority coalition as soon as possible. As he told the Likud faithful earlier last night Israel faces very serious challenges with the looming threat of Iran on top of the list. He reiterated this message with us. We must stop Iran from attaining nuclear weapons.

One political question that has repeatedly been asked is how did Kadima go from 21-22 seats in the polls to 27-28 seats on election day. The short answer is Kadima attracted Meretz and Labor voters. The collapse of these Left parties are the reason why Kadima rose in the last days of the campaign. Kadima's move to capture the Left began in the last 8 days of the campaign. Tzipi Livni gave a speech in which she became the "peace" candidate. It was the first time any of the major candidates put peace before security. With Defense Minister and Labor leader Barak riding a wave of adulation because of the war in Gaza Livni's play for the substantial "peace vote" in Labor payed dividends.

But Livni ultimately came up short because the Israeli electorate had moved dramatically to the Right. There simply were not enough Left voters to win this election. The only candidate who can put together a working coalition is Netanyahu.

Last night, Shas declared support for Netanyahu as Prime Minister. Meanwhile Lieberman called the vote a large victory for the Right. In a speech last night, Lieberman also called for reforming the dysfunctional election system in Israel. That's an idea that should be adopted by all political parties. Israel's multi-party system breeds instability.

In conclusion, the world needs to understand that the people of Israel have forcefully rejected the path of appeasement that led to Hamas firing rockets at Israeli population centers. President Obama are you listening?

I can't believe that Kadima got even a single vote. ! As the past few years have shown, Kadima has given in to terrorists time and time again. Release prisoners with nothing in return. Then do it again.! Security MUST be first in Israel.
What SHOULD happen is :
Annex West Bank.
Remove all terrorists.
Install Israeli police and IDF all over Judea and Samaria to enforce all laws equally.
Make ALL residents swear allegiance to Israel, or leave.
Peaceful people may stay, others leave.
All work, all pay taxes, all respect their neighbor.

Praise be to the almighty Lord G_D of Israel... our prayers have been answered. With Bibi Netanyahu's courageous and steadfast leadership we can hope for a better future for Israel. This election will send out a clear warning to Israel's enemies that the people of Israel are fed-up with their constant harassment and that enough is enough!!
