One Jerusalem Joins PM Netanyahu On Jerusalem Day

Several hours ago we landed in Ben Gurion Airport and we immediately made our way to Jerusalem. As we entered the Holy City police officers began closing off many streets to traffic. It took a while to get to our hotel.

Soon after depositing our luggage we made our way to the Merkaz HaRav Yeshivah, the site of a horrific terrorist attack that took the lives of eight young men. Minutes after we arrived the Prime Minister's motorcade pulled up. As the Prime Minister walked past he stopped to greet us and to say a few private words. We then followed him into the building. As he entered the packed auditorium the band struck up the music and the room full of students began singing. The room rocked with the joy expressed by these students and their rabbis.

Merkaz HaRav Yeshivah is the heart and soul of the religious Zionist movement. That is a primary reason why it is a target for terrorists.

When the singing subsided the Prime Minister declared "Jerusalem will never be divided." If you thought the assembled were loud as he entered the room, they seemed restrained in comparison to the singing and clapping that greeted the PM's declaration. "The flag that flies over the Kotel is the Israeli flag... Our holy places, the Temple Mount -- will remain under Israeli sovereignty forever." Another cheer went up when he declared that,"

The Prime Minister went on to say that Theodore Herzl, the founder of Zionism, while not a religious man, understood that the religious traditions of Judaism are the cornerstone of the Jewish people and the State of Israel.

This was a great way to spend Jerusalem Day.  While there is talk that President Obama wants Israel to give up Jerusalem it is clear that Netanyahu said no way and we are dedicated to helping him if he needs us.

Today, at another event, President Peres defended Jerusalem as the capital of only one people, The Jewish people.

I am so happy that jerusalem will not be devided, it must stay one at all cost and G-d will be with you he has promised that because you are his people and he is your G-d. We who live in the USA are for you! not all of us follow or think or believe the way Barack Obama does. I pray that he will realize that Israel must stay our friend. Those who stand with you, G-d will stand with, those who don't will fall.
