Since we in Israel can no longer rely on the present Obama administration to take into account our security needs, the Israeli government is going to have to take some hard decisions, up to and including a public refusal to toe the Obama/Clinton line on freezing settlements.
The truth of the matter is that Israel could freeze all the building throughout Israel and it would not bring the Palestinians any closer to peace with us, nor would the uproooting of the settlements or the new Jewish Jerusalem neighborhoods entice the Palestinians to peace with us. If anything, these two steps would only harden the Palestinians in their already ultra hardened positions and if possible up their already impossible demands for our destruction.
Much like the Gilad Schalit negotiations with Hamas, every time Olmert indicated that his team would accept a certain level of terrorist releases in exchange for Gilad, immediately the Hamas negotiators upped their demands even higher, because in the Palestinian world, if Israel appeases them and meets their demands it only opens the door for more and more expensive demands.
Indeed, I for one suspect that if Netanyahu meets the Obama/Clinton demand for a housing freeze, that this demand would be followed by other more draconian demands by the Obama administration, ultimately making Israeli Palestinian negotiations irrelevant.
Right now Israel has to hold firm and drag out this settlement freeze demand for as long as possible, all the while acting as if we are sincerely trying to reach a compromise while at the same time doing everything in our power to torpedo the demand.
Barack Obama is still simply too popular and powerful for Israel to confront directly, the Congress and the Senate are still too fearful of Rahm Emmanuel and Obama to support Israel openly, and the American Jewish Community still firmly supports Barack Obama and has both misgivings and real conflicts about whether to support Israel. Barack Obama has been chastened by his failure to support the Iranian protesters, but he has not yet suffered a deep enough and serious snough domestic or diplomatic policy failure to make him appear weak, inept, and especially, vulnerable.
So Israel is now isolated from the Congress, the Senate, and our Jewish American familyl. And we have not faced this kind of pressure and open threats from our chief ally for over thirty years and I am not sure that our present leadership is prepared to confront this "friendly" threat cleverly, wisely, and as underhandedly as it demands.
Israel has no choice but to delay, drag out, act as if in good faith for the time being, all the while waiting for Barack Obama to seriously stumble domestically and then taking a firm stand against his Middle East meddling.
As a last recourse, our on and off negotiating partners, the Palestinians, and of course their various terrorist movements, can always be counted on to do something remarkably stupid politically, diplomatically, or terrorist and thus take Obama's and Clinton's pressure off Israel.

Many questions remain here in the US as to our new president's life history. For example; Why did he change his name from Barry Soetoro to his present Muslim name, if he is not, indeed, a Muslim by choice? He has not proved that he is a natural born citizen as required by the US Constitution. Yes, we are also very concerned about how our new president is treating Israel as well as how he is treating our US citizens. We fear that we are headed for a dictatorship and that most of our citizens are oblivious to the dangers of what is happening outside the controls of our Congress and elected representatives. First, Rahm remains an unknown here in the States. He's very much like Karl Rove was for W. And so fortunes will rise and fall on the president. There is a great sea of discomfort rising against Obama. His federal government power grabs are not sitting well. The first test, because it is so immediate, is how he reacts to Iran and North Korea. He is failing the test with NK - trailing a ship with missiles and talking about it is useless. If he continues his oratory with Iran, then these events will stand in stark comparison to the realities of the world.

I agree that there is popularity for him, but he is also deeply divisive. His "strongly approve" and "strong oppose" numbers here hover around zero, and have for a while. I feel his popularity is as thin as a balloon, and will deflate just as quickly. The weaker he is with our economy, the more foreign relations will be taken over by the Brits, Germany, and France on our behalf. The more that happens, the more important our 2010 Congressional elections become. There is already talk of comparing them to 1994, when power changed hands after a couple of years of Clinton.

The Republican party is - and always has been - the greatest friend Israel ever had in the US.

We in the USA have been deliuded by a great performer. President Obama is certainly a charismatic person, but many of us feel that he is actually quite evil. Look at his push to change every aspect of what our country is, and has stood for. I really don't feel I can sign a petition for something that could be being taking out of context. I would rather hear this from my presidents mouth. Which I have not. Yes, we need to take care of Israel (if they ask for it). But I have seen too many people take things out of context and have bashed our president making him look like a jerk. If it would have been a simple human problem then it would be right to be concerned over obama and his agenda over jerusalem and Israel. Obama is no friend to Israel. He is a Muslim and he believes they are destined to control the world. His assignment is to bring the USA inline with their plan for one world government, Islam, one world religion, again Islam, and one legal system, Sharia. This goal includes the plan to destroy Israel, every last Jewish person, and 0 is in agreement with this plan. Israel, stand on your own feet, trust in Jehovah God and be saved. Now is the time. I hope that Mr. Netanyahu will stand up to Obama and not give in to his pressures, both the public ones and the private ones, whatever those might be (I feel that there probably are some). Israel has a right to protect itself, and also has a right to build new settlements as their population grows. Jerusalem belongs to the Israelis. God gave it and Israel to them when he promised it to Abraham, which blessing was past down to Isaac and then to Jacob and his descendants. Please tell Netanyahu not to give up Jerusalem to the Palestinians or any international "peacekeeping" force. I am greatly disappointed in and angered about Obama's outlandish support of Muslims over Israel's rights. It is the Muslims who commit the terrorist acts, not the Israelis. Palestinians are now committing murders with suicide bombers on horses. Israel gave Bethlehem to the Muslims, and now visitors and tourists don't want to go there because it is much more dangerous than when Israel had control of it. I hope that Obama realizes that the avowed purpose of Hamas is the destruction of Israel, and yet, that is who the Palestinians elected to lead them (in the Gaza strip). I know that Mr. Netanyahu is strong in his beliefs about protecting Israel in all ways possible; I hope he maintains that courage, that strength and posture. I feel that our president is putting pressure on him in totally unfair ways. Sometimes I think Obama is naive, but then, maybe he knows exactly what he is doing. His former pastor, Jeremiah Wright, praised Louis Farrakhan, a Muslim. Maybe Obama will notice what the leadership of Iran is like, and how the powerful, restrictive, cruel, and dictatorial clerics (ayatollahs, imams, muftahs) rule Iran, and they have their man in Ahmadinejad.

My daughter was born in Honolulu Hawaii four years after Obama. Her birth certificate is nothing like the phony he has posted on the website. Hers is typewritten, has my name, occupation, address, my birth date, and my place of birth. The information required for her father was the same as mine. There are three signatures on it mine, the doctor who delivered her, and the registrar of records, plus the date, time it was filed and the file number. Hers is a Certificate of Live Birth and his is a Certification of Birth…not necessarily that he was born there but that his birth took place and was certified by the officials in Hawaii. Why the difference if his is real why it doesn’t look like my daughter’s who was born 4 years later. Or did we progress backward in the forms department rather than ahead.

Regardless of where he was born, his father was a Kenyan so he has at least dual citizenship, and was also an Indonesian when adopted so that makes three citizenships…which was renounced and which wasn’t? It is likely he traveled to Indonesia on Indonesian citizenship in the early 1980’s as they weren’t letting Americans in and he was there.

But, it has always been the Arabic Nations that have attacked Israel: 1948--seeking to crush and destroy a weaker state, Israel, just upon its attaining Independence in its G-d-given Land; in Sinai, against Egypt and their fedayeen during 1956; during 1967, the subsequent War of Attrition, and in the infamous 1973 Yom Kippur War. I agree with you except for one thing, you, nor none one else, will be able to reason with Obama. He does only what he wants to do, no reguard to anyones feeling about anything! The relationship of the US and Israel has been unique until now. It is sad to note that in spite of what Pres Obama promised during his campaign that the US will always support Israel, he has now changed his thoughts on the issue and it would appear that he is actually pushing Israel to give more concessions without realising the security issues and well being of the Israel people. Israel is a small strip of land without any expansion to the Jews and yet, they are not supposed to expand meaning they must not increase in number i.e. not have children - more less than what happened to the Jews during the time of the birth of Moses. I am saddened that the international community is putting pressure on Israel without any due regard as to its sovereignty and security. It remains for the Israel people, to stick together, look up to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to protect them since their former ally appear to be courting a different agenda. Serious Christians should set time on a daily basis to pray for Israel and I believe Jews living outside Israel should seriously consider returning to Israel and ensure that they send their money back to Israel. It may be that one of these days, Jews living in other parts of the world will be expelled or rounded up and be gassed again - it could happen. I am really disappointed with Pres Obama's stand on Israel. If God is God, He will come through for the Jewish people in their time of need but we Christians need to support them materially and definitely by prayer. We need to remember God's promises to Israel and His anger towards those who would oppress Israel.
