What a great debate! It is such a delight to watch Israeli TV reality. In my view, Caroline won hands down. Why? She does not mince words, and her sights are right on the Israeli experience, not on wishful thinking. Pragmatism maintains that Israel must defend herself against Iran in the near future. Pragmatism dictates that Jerusalem must remain indivisible and in Israel's hands as the capital of the sovereign Jewish State of Israel. What the world thinks is irrelevant! According to what the world thinks, the Jewish people should have died out in antiquity with the Jebusites, Amorites, Amalekites, Byzantines, Seleucids, Babylonians, Assyrians,Greeks, Romans, and Ottomans just to name a few. Jews have sustained themselves because of their choice to follow the precepts of the Torah and maintain their covenant with HaShem as His witnesses and partners in this world. I am convinced that President Obama does not have Israel's better interests in his sights. Otherwise, why would Hamas applaud his speech in Cairo? I think that Gershon needs to takes a reality check on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. His belief in President Obama's intentions regarding Israel are absurd, naive, and ill-advised. His approach to Iran is more in touch with reality and sensibility. It's interesting in that I've never seen or heard anyone like Baskin, although I'm still wondering how (or if) his mind works. He seems fascinated by the concept of "the international community". He probably also believes in the tooth fairy.

Why do something that will hurt your own flesh and blood and make them suffer when it is in your hand to help them prosper? The world tuned out the fiasco that was the Israeli withdrawal. Becoming a prosperous nation or a nation of any sort, has this been the experience of the Palestinian in the Gaza? I suppose if you want to say that amassing tons and tons of weaponry and stockpiling them in miles and miles of tunnels or loading them into warehouses, even hospitals etc., or one faction contending viciously with another in vying for power, arming themselves to the teeth, grabbing children to be put out into the front of the fray as they go at each other, leaving the business of making a democracy or any kind of decent life for the people to the writers of fiction and worse and in general making themselves wicked despots, this was the New Gaza. The first premier viewing of the makings of a Palestinian State. And I suppose the firing of those thousands of missiles into the cities of Israel reining down onto the streets, terrorizing the people, blowing up houses and classrooms, that was in celebration of their autonomy.
Now the world says, 'Get on the road to peace Israel. Give them their Palestinian State. Divide the Land. Oh your nation will be split into two separate pieces? Making it militarily unviable? Well that's the price of peace you understand. So give it up. Give it all. And while you're at it why don't you just give up altogether.' And so Arafat's words will come to pass. 'We will take the land piece by piece until we reach the point where we can rise up and overpower her.'
