Is Israel The Answer to Obama's Downward Spiral?
For a President with an ambitious domestic agenda, President Obama certainly spends a lot of high-profile time overseas. One reason for this may be the strong inclination among politicians to attempt to deflect criticism at home by diverting attention overseas. The most famous example of this resulted in a monumental failure. In 1905, Count Witte a trusted adviser to the Czar of Russia urge the Czar to go to war against Japan. Witte argued that this foreign adventure would settle down the growing opposition to the Czar in Russia. Witte described this episode the "splendid little war." Unfortunately for the Czar and Witte the Japanese proved more resilient than expected and fought the mighty Russia to a draw. This was a humiliating defeat for the Romanov Dynasty which fueled the downfall of the Czarist Empire.
There are undoubtedly non political reasons for Obama's foreign jaunts. The main reason is to consult and form policies with our allies. But Obama is going beyond the G 8 summits to focus attention on himself. He acts like the world's chief negotiator. Before the G 8 he spent some time in Russia. While he has described his Russian experience a success some harsh criticisms have been directed at his nuclear deal with Russia. For one, Obama has weakened the United State's nuclear capabilities while the Russians gave up nothing of substance. Today, America's former Defense Secretary James Schlesinger believes that Obama's nuclear policy is dangerously wrong. He believes it will increase the chances of nuclear proliferation especially among rogue states and terrorists. Read

And there is no sign that Obama even raised the Iran issue. He certainly did not reach agreement on Iran. Therefore, Russia is free to continue supplying Iran with assistance for its nuclear program.
From Russia Obama went to the G-8 summit and by all reports he failed on several fronts. China and India, the largest polluters in the world, refused to sign on to Obama's global warming plan. And on Iran, Obama and his allies at the G-8 once again warned Iran that their patience are running out. I am sure these words of Obama sent shivers down the backs of the brutal tyrants in Tehran:
Now, we face a real-time challenge on nuclear proliferation in Iran. And at this summit, the G-8 nations came together to issue a strong statement calling on Iran to fulfill its responsibilities to the international community without further delay. We remain seriously concerned about the appalling events surrounding the presidential election. And we're deeply troubled by the proliferation risks Iran's nuclear program poses to the world.
We've offered Iran a path toward assuming its rightful place in the world. But with that right comes responsibilities. We hope Iran will make the choice to fulfill them, and we will take stock of Iran's progress when we see each other this September at the G-20 meeting.

After a brief visit to Africa, Obama is jetting home with bad news piling up every day. His polling numbers are on a downward spiral. His economic policies have not stopped unemployment from skyrocketing, and his major legislative initiatives are unpopular with the American people. Given that his political options are small at home look for him to increase pressure on Israel on the settlements issue and Jerusalem. If Obama decides to pressure Israel, and we have learned that he supports this course of action, he will have the support of his European allies. He has probably convinced himself that this would be a politically popular course to take.
One Jerusalem has learned that the Obama Administration decisively rejected a proposal on outposts that Defense Minister Barak delivered. This reaction is further proof that Israel better be prepared to fend off a strong offense directed at them from the White House.
Can anyone explain why Obama is more forceful with Israel than he is with Iran?
People don't seem to remember that Mr. Obama is and will always be a muslim. No matter what he says or pretends to be, we all know, from personal experience, that once one learns something as a child, it remains in one's head foever. No matter what the circumstances are or become later on. Lip service is so easy to do, deep inside, he bows to Muslims, Kings, disctators and so on. Mr. Obama is a shame to democracy.
