Mr Lauder - well done! You are brave to stand up for Israel in the face of all the bullying threats of President elect Obama. The God who watches over Israel and who neither slumbers nor sleeps will in His time bring judgment on those who curse His land as He also brought blessings on those who blessed His land. America has been blessed in the past for standing alongside Israel, but she is now in dire danger of receiving the curse promised by God for the path she is taking in her postion of deceit and downright abuse towards Israel. Be encouraged Mr Lauder - we are proud of you and your stand! Don't be bullied into retracting any of your statements! God bless you, and Israel!!

A few years ago, I read that new geography school books distributed to Palistinian children, show no State of Israel..............All the Cities are shown, but no mention of Israel............The ramification of this is enormous..............
A new generation will grow up believing "intruders" are occupying their land.............This alone would negate the possibility of a future peaceful

Obama is running away from the sentiments of the people of America. By far most of us support Israel rather than the terrorist countries that are constantly attacking her. Thank you Mr. Lauder for writing this and the WSJ for publishing it.

The comment by "Sharon" on August 23 at 7:22 AM said EVERYTHING I would have wirtten had she not said it first. Mr.Lauder: Please wake up the American Jews!! I am in awe at the silence of the American Jews who voted for a president who was going to betray them. Many used to write to this website and now seem silenced. I agree with "Sharon" so much that America will be judged for turning her back on Israel. I am only one of a multitude who saw it before the election and now our worst fears are opening up before us. May our Father G-d Bless and Protect you, Precious Israel. And America, cover your heads as you bow on your knees!!!

I just had to put in my 2 cents worth, but I can't say it any better than Sharon ( above ) has done. Thank you Sharon for nailing it exactly. My thanks to Mr. Lauder his ability to grasp what is truly important and then to stand up and to speck out. WOW!!! I applaud you Mr. Lauder.
These are very serious times. We need more people like Mr. Lauder, to make a stand for Israel and the Jewish people. I for one, take my stand, here and now, for Israel and all of her people.

As a semi-retired Canadian pastor who loves God's Word, and as a result, loves God's people, the Jews, I could not agree more whole-heartedly with Sharon's comment. America has been blessed by her support of Israel, and will certainly face the opposite if Obama's very unwise policies and approach to Israel are carried out. I applaud Mr. Lauder for speaking out as he has done, and the WSJ for publishing his article.

I'd also like to offer my gratitude to Ronald Lauder for his courage in standing up to the tide of anti-Israel sentiment being fomented by American Jews, who are sadly out of touch with their culture, religion, and most especially their origins. Mr. Lauder, you speak for me and so many of us, American Jews who also define ourselves as Zionists.

America has been a nation greatly blessed; largely, I believe, because America has always been a safe haven for the Jewish people who have immigrated here, but also because America has shown consistent support to Israel. “And I will bless those that bless you and curse the one who curses you. And in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

"Wake up, American Jews" is exactly what we need to hear! (responding to "Supporter of Israel" above). Here's why (trust me, I know...I fled from Khomeini's Iran, and no one know the stakes better than the Israelis):
The Europeans stopped the Muslim advance from the Ottoman Empire, ... at the Battle of Tours, ....after the Muslim empire in Spain. Is Europe now in a modern Middle Age post Renaissance, Enlightenment, Industrial, Space and Information Age? Are we knee deep in the LATE AGE OF DISENCHANTMENT today?

The trouble is that the Muslims are patient, as in ...centuries-long patience. They live in blind faith syndrome, since they can't get a better deal here on earth. Their geography has scant rainfall and natural resources that limit them as a society. Is it a wonder they turn to the only ones who offer hope of a better world beyond in Paradise? We all know their despots keep most of the wealth to themselves, leaving the disenfranchised to the devices of the radical clerics’ promise of a better deal in heaven. They have nothing to lose and believe in earnest that there’s everything to gain!

We in the West have EVERYTHING to lose! We must stand up and pull every string of integrity together to fight for what the Europeans already defended so valiantly CENTURIES AGO. The Europeans today seem to have forgotten that episode in their history, and are now a minority in their own continent.

North Americans need to redeem what seems headed to slippery collision course with history. We needed a leader, a true patriot…yesterday. For the sake of the forefathers what is needed is a strong sense of history. Everything else becomes fumbling in the dark, as in, the blind leading the blind, with no clear direction or sense of purpose. These people have a sense of purpose, albeit in a so-called better world accessible through martyrdom. We can’t martyr our own children to the scant possibilities they have offered theirs throughout the ages. It’s all about economics with the clerics, and gaining access to the resources of the gullible West whose history books are sadly laden with dust! The Israelis are the ones who hold the key to understand what is going on, and we need to listen to their admonishments if we want to hold on to our freedoms in the West. I don`t trust this Muslim prez. And I don`t believe that capitulating to Mr. O`s every self-adulating whim will soften the give-an-inch-take-a-mile attitude of Fatah, Hamas, Hizbullah, Iran and all those other thugs they are chummy with. Wake up American Jews is the real issue now. How did they fall alseep in the first place...and with what moral right...this is what I, as a Jew, want to know.
