Obama To Bestow Highest Award on An Anti-Semite
Regular readers of this blog know that we do not abuse the term anti-Semite. We save it for those dregs of society who have earned the title. Mary Robinson is an anti-Semite who used her position at the United Nations to de-legitimize  the Jewish State and give aid and comfort to Israel's enemies who want to destroy the State of Israel.

Mary Robinson used her exalted United Nations position to spearhead the anti-Semitic love fest called Durban I. Marty Peretz of the left of center New Republic describes Mary Robinson this way:

She was the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights when the commission began to specialize in the practice of supporting governmental repression and calling it freedom--as, frankly, Obama has done with the burqa, also in Cairo. But Robinson's biggest role on the world stage was as chair of the 2001 World Conference Against Racism in Durban.  She planned it, she mostly ran it and she is responsible for that Witch's Sabbath of hate against both Israel and America, actually the west and western values in general and in particular. Since then, she has been doing the time-consuming NGO thing, talking mostly to one another and soliciting grants from American foundations.

Robinson's record of hatred for Israel, Jews, The United States, and her support for some of the vilest nations on earth is documented. Noted scholar Michael Rubin points to Robinson's robust support for violence and terrorism against Israel and the civilized world. Rubin writes:

The biggest issue for me, however, hanging over Robinson's selection is her stewardship of the UN Human Rights Commission in 2002. At the April 2002 session, the commission voted (and passed) a resolution endorsing "all available means, including armed struggle" to establish a Palestinian state. Put aside whatever one thinks about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. International law bases itself on precedent, and the UN Human Rights Commission chose specifically not to exempt suicide bombing--a plague of which had erupted in 2001-2002--from "all available means." While the question on Robinson's agenda may have involved Israel and Palestine, the answer was just as relevant to Sri Lanka, Great Britain, Pakistan, and Lebanon. This is why Canada, Britain, and Germany voted against the measure. Basically, under Robinson's stewardship, the commission decided to recognize the
murder of non-combatant men, women, and children on buses and in cafés as legal.

As we said earlier, Robinson's sins are many. UN Watch documents her top 10. But the question her record raises is why is President Obama honoring this troublesome enemy of Jews and the civilized world? When the blogosphere and some Jewish organizations began criticizing Obama for choosing Robinson, the White House responded by saying the President did not agree with all her views but wanted to recognize her work for women's rights. That is clearly a lame excuse. Professor Rubin does a fine job exposing the lameness of this line. And if you look at the initial White House announcement she is primarily being honored for the official work she did during the time of Durban.

If criticism of this choice continues do not be surprised if the White House tries to spin that the President did not select Robinson, someone else did. Well the announcement was made in President Obama's name and remember the immortal words of President Harry Truman:

THE BUCK STOPS HERE.

If you are as outraged as we are, please contact the President and tell him that he should not give Mary Robinson our nation's highest civilian award.  Act today. Tell family and friends.

UPDATE: President Obama bestowed the Medal Award on Mary Robinson. The presidential citation read:

"For Mary Robinson, the fight to end discrimination and suffering is an urgent moral imperative. She has been a trail-blazing crusader for women's rights in Ireland and a forceful advocate for equality and human rights around the world," the citation said.

"Whether courageously visiting conflict-stricken regions, or working to inject concern for human rights into business and economic development, Mary Robinson continues this important work today, urging citizens and nations to make common cause for justice"

By this action President Obama has closed his eyes to the vile parts of Mary Robinson's public career.

Here is what I just wrote to the White House. Feel free to use your own words of expression, or copy mine.

I, a proud American, am deeply distraught by President Obama's consideration of awarding the US' Civilian Award to Mary Robinson. The US stands for respect and legitimate discourse. Robinson has blatantly endorsed anti-Israel witch-hunting at Durban and suicide-bombings against Israeli civilians.

What I do not understand the "surprise" of this administration moves. We have to understand once and for ever that this administration is so pro-arab, pro islam that they will do everything to establis Palestine even if they have to destroy Israel. I hope the american jews who voted for him and still mesmerized wake up in time and not too late.

Here is what I wrote to the White House.

Mary Robinson's obvious anti-Semitic position against the sovereignty of the nation of Israel and the Jewish people in particular is documented in her attitude and comments toward them at the United Nations. Because of her obvious bias she is NOT qualified to receive our nation's highest civil award, the Medal of Freedom.

I strongly oppose her selection and propose her removal from the list as a recipient of this Award.

My comment can not be short, my comment can be sweet, For what I see, For what I hear: is that the Jewish state has much to fear.
The American people did something strange, this nation that claims that it is for the free, which says it supports its friends, this nation that in the past has sought and fought for those oppressed; has now changed its collective mind. We the few, we told we yelled but no one cared; no one heard, For the change was in the air ; change is what the people did demand. it seems the first one that get the change, the first one that is dammed by this great new man with his new found change is the Jewish state we once called friend. And that is such a shame but from a liberating group of liberals ridding a wave of change can one accept nothing less but much much more of the same.

Well, on the one hand I must state the Obama is a complete enemy of Israel, America and freedom. Of course this UN terrorist is a thug and should not be given any kind of award - except perhaps a week in a terrorist training camp with her beloved Muslim friends. Perhaps they could "convince" her to wear a burqa and just become a muslim. On the other hand, it was through much help by the liberal Jews in America that this Obamanation became the President of the United States. The Jewis people need to come together on their political ideologies and not support democrats in America then hope that somehow these same liberal Democrats will love Israel. Democrats hate America, they hate Israel and they will do everything in their power to destroy both nations. Israel needs to put pressure on these rich, liberal American Jews who are undermining America and Israel by their support of liberal Democrats.

Mary Robinson receiving some award should be the least concern at the moment for Israel in my opinion. UN proved to be enemy of Israel on many other occasions, so this is not news...

USA has a right to put pressure since USA is our friend. That’s ok. But Israel has right to say “yes” or “no” to demands. I think the bigger problem is inside Israel: Israel is too timid, doesn't wage a good "information" war as its enemies do. I read article written by Lieberman, and I completely agree with some of his ideas. Israeli Arabs (and all Jews) should undergo a special test of knowledge of Israeli history (including fragments from Torah) and vow to be loyal to State of Israel, and be a loyal Israeli!! I was very disturbed by fact that Israeli Arabs set Israeli flags on fire. It is like allowing enemies to be inside your house...Or Arab in Knesset saying ugly things about Israel...Those who violate "respect to Israel", should loose the citizenship and be deported outside Israel. First, clean up the mess in your house, don't be afraid to say "no" to US demands, get ready to attack Iran in case US doesn't do it. Israel should still negotiate with neighbors, since having piece is the ultimate goal. But it should negotiate with a "firm hand", as a strong leader! Then Israel will win more respect from the world. Also , just to remind everyone, Arabs will never stop no matter how much land you give them, they will never recognize Israel (especially if Israel continues its current meek and timid politics).
