"Until the Zionist entity is wiped out", says Fatah
As Fatah convenes its first conference in two decades in Bethlehem, there is universal agreement that Fatah will not change its Charter which calls for the eradication of the Zionist entity (the State of Israel), the establishment of a Palestinian (Zionist free) state with its capital Jerusalem (there is no East or West division), and a commitment to continue resistance against the State of Israel. President Abbas's opening speech emphasized "the right to resistance."

There is also general agreement that Fatah will not recognize any Jewish State nor will it drop its insistence that Arabs have the right to lay claim to land in the State of Israel.(At a recent Fatah graduation ceremony Haiffa and other Israeli cities were said to be part of Palestine.)

In the eyes of the Obama Administration, the European Union, Peace Now Left wing activists, Fatah are "moderates" and worthy negotiating partners for the State of Israel.

Only diplomats with a skewered view of reality would call Fatah moderate or a negotiating partner. They are neither.

They are a corrupt group of opportunists, who are propped up by funds provided to them by the West, the United Nations, and Arab States. They also receive political assistance from the likes of Hillary Clinton and European diplomats. Just yesterday, Clinton berated Israel and took the side of the Palestinians in the controversy over the removal of two families who were illegally occupying a building in Jerusalem. Clinton put the weight of the United States behind unsubstantiated and untrue claims that the removal was a political decision by the State of Israel. When in fact it was a decision by Israel's independent judical system, that more often than not sides with the Palestinians.

But once again the facts play second fiddle to politics. Clinton and the Obama Administration are once again currying favor with the "moderates" by demonizing Israel. And there are reports that the Obama Administration is preparing a full scale public relations campaign to try and force Israel to make concessions that will endanger the Jewish State and it will not result in even a baby-step toward peace

Likud Communications Minister Yuli Edelstein summarized the Fatah leadership and conference in this way:

"Are these the moderate leaders the world wants us to hold negotiations with?" he asked. "My feeling is that we are not interested in listening to the voices calling for an armed struggle, for the right of return and for the establishment of a capital of their own in Jerusalem.

"We are pretending not to hear the clear trend demonstrated by Abu Mazen (Abbas) and his people to adapt themselves to Hamas," the information minister said.

"Our main task is to act in the international arena and explain the difference between dreams and reality," he continued. "There they are doing the easiest thing - accusing Israel of refusing to freeze construction in Jerusalem. They don't see that what is happening in Bethlehem and what is being said there is not being said by Hamas, Hezbollah or (Syrian President) Bashar Assad.

"This is Fatah we are talking about, those who the international community is allegedly pushing us to negotiate with. If anyone should talk about settlements endangering peace, the most violent and extreme settlement is the Palestinian state, which will be established and run by the 'moderate' speaking today at the Fatah conference."

Interesting look at the radicalization of Fatah.

"This is Fatah we are talking about, those who the international community is allegedly pushing us to negotiate with. If anyone should talk about settlements endangering peace, the most violent and extreme settlement is the Palestinian state, which will be established and run by the 'moderate' speaking today at the Fatah conference" ("Ynetnews.com," "Edelstein" Fatah congress a declaration of war," by Ron Sofer, August 4, 2009, p. 1) reports the Israeli Information and Diaspora Minister Yuli Edelstein of the Likud Party. He notes: "Are these the moderate leaders the world wants us to hold negotiations with?...My feeling is that we are not interested in listening to the voices calling for an armed struggle, for the right of return and for the establishment of a capital of their own in Jerusalem." It is precisely Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas who has told his Fatah activists that the "Palestinian movement seeks peace with Israel, but that 'resistance remains a right'" ("Aljazeera.Net," "News: Middle East," "Abbas maintains right to resistance," August 5, 2009, p. 1). Is this the kind of person that we, Israel, want as a peace-partner? No sooner would we sign a document that we are at peace with one another then the bombs would come raining down upon us from Abbas' Fatah, from Hamas, from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and every other militant group that lies within Gaza and what would then be the new Palestinian entity, the former Judea and Samaria territories, with half of Israel--at least--torn out from within our guts. In fact, that entire area running from The Temple Mount through its very close neighbor The Mount of Olives is on the verge of explosiveness. It is teeming with the most nefarious and numerous number of terrorists ranging from the West Bank--which would then be "liberated" Palestine--through Gaza. The way that things are moving at present, there are signs of reconciliation between Hamas and Fatah, or at least each movement learning from the others' arsenal and supply and techniques of terrorist tricks and forms of engagement, otherwise most typically in the form of Qassam bombings and homicide explosives killing scores of Jewish and other Israelis throughout Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv and the rest of the state of Israel. Israel might not be able to hold out against such a protracted form of assault from these few terrorist groups, from Hizbullah, and from extremist elements in Iran and other Arabic nations, resulting in the capitulation of Jerusalem, an act of grave dishonor and one meriting the status of the days of The Prophets when the Jewish Peoples in Israel had turned against HaShem. However, there is always an opportunity for repentance with the grace of Tshuva, eternally so, which brings Salation in HaShem, The almighty. Many Israelis have most regrettably gone astray--which is what had led to Israel's demise in past generations--but along with the strong and competent military that we have, our return to Judaism with Prayer is the source that emboldens us and is at the Heart and Soul of the physical machine that we might have in our possession. As for the Jews of the Diaspora, it is time to return home. We are being rejected throughout the world. The picture is not a pretty one. Nations scold and mock us and parley in alliances that will ultimately speak their demise. This, as written in Torah, is an historical pattern, that has always played itself out in this manner. Because of the Creator, we are endowed with certain gifts, but in truth the Day of Judgment is not too far off and each nation will be held accountable for how they have dealt with HaShem's chosen people, particularly the state of Israel, His Holy Dwelling Place. Things like this seem so unreal to the common man or to emboldened and mentally ("mind") -rigid scientists, but there is an utter truth and grandeur in the spiritual world and it is played out in accoradance with HaShem's, The Almighty's, plans and the spiritually adept minions of the worlds of Keter, Chochmah and Binah as well as the other seven Sefirot, all culminating in their enactments in Malchus, that is, their manifestations in the physical world. The path of the world right now is just no good. Blind men lead nations to commit deeds against Israel. May this never recur!
