Senators Lieberman and McCain Visit Jerusalem

The Left is up in arms over a recent visit to Jerusalem by Senator's Lieberman and McCain. The Senators used their trip to chastise Obama's envoy for threatening to cut off military loans to Israel if it did not capitulate to demands made by the Obama Administration.

The Senators are accused of not seeing the real Jerusalem. After all they went to historical sites which included the tunnel along side the outer wall of the Temple of Solomon and the City of David. Both these sites are problem for the Muslim leadership and their Western apologists. You see the Muslim leadership denies that ancient Jews ever set foot in Jerusalem. They deny that the temples including Solomon's ever existed. In other words they refuse to acknowledge that Jerusalem was ever the capital of the Jewish nation.

The Western Wall and the City of David expose this fiction, this lie. Both sites are brimming with evidence that since ancient times, Jerusalem has been the heart and the soul of the Jewish people.  A few years back, archaeologists discovered King David's Palace in the City of David.  This is just one Jewish historical treasure in Jerusalem.

Along with denying Jewish history the Left also refuses to admit that Muslims have tremendous power over their holy sites in Jerusalem.  Many feel they have been granted too much power. Over the years Muslim religious authorities have destroyed tons of Christian and Jewish antiquities on the Temple Mount. They also severely limit Jewish access to this holiest site in Judaism.

The Senators are guilty of one thing, of shedding light on the Jewish reality of Jerusalem. This city has been home to only one people -- the nation of Israel.

I thank God that Senators Lieberman and McCain had the courage and care for Israel to take this step. My prayer is that Obama may come to his senses where Israel is concerned. If the United States deserts Israel, they will not continue to stand strong and influential in the world or at home.

I agree with the gist of the article. McCain and Lieberman deserve praise. But who on the American political Left is this article referring to? When I clicked on "Left" someone from the Israeli peace movement showed up. Hopefully McCain and Lieberman have not received much feedback from the American left.

why people can't understand that the Muslims have no problems with lying. They just decide what they want and then lie about it.
I see here in the U.S. that people say they have good Muslim friends...that's nice, but when the Muslims take over and start killing the "infidels" what are those nice Muslim friends going to do? They're not going to make trouble or help you. The Muslims kill anybody and everybody that stands in their way. There is no integrity or honor in those people...they just justify what they do....

Obama is a closet Muslim and is out to first, destroy Israel, and then to destroy the USA.

The truth is, the Omperor has no clothes.

It's important to remember that Lieberman is far more liberal than conservative on most issues -- he was a Democrat (until the Party shafted him in the last election) and he's allied with the Dems, counted as one of their 60-vote super-majority. He was the Democratic VP candidate with Al Gore, for crying out loud! And they won the election by more than a half million votes, making him the true VP of our country. It was the conservatives who mocked him after the election as "Sore Loserman". You should also remember that, earlier in Israel's rebirth as a nation, it was the liberals who supported the tiny, struggling nation. Conservatives shunned Israel and pandered to Egypt, Syria, Jordan and the Saudis all the way thru Eisenhower. True, times have changed, but there are many, many liberal Americans like me who love and support Israel -- it would be wise for you to not vilify us or berate us.

No matter how many whiskers these muslim have on their faces, they know good and well that denial of the perpetual Jewish presence in the Promised Land since the time of Moshe Rabeinu, and especially in Yahrushalayim, is a BALD-FACED LIE. Their irreversible embarrassment and condemnation will become obvious when they--very soon, we pray--face a victorious Mashiach who has come with His armies to oust Amalek and company from all the land promised to the two houses of Yisrael, from the Euphrates to the Nile. HalleluYAH!

From a Supporter of President Obama, a former Republican and newly minted Obama-Democrat;

From a Supporter of the Public Option and a bewildered citizen over Joe Leiberman's obstructionism in the health-care debacle;

From a Yehudi, an Ezrach Israeli and a Citoyen Du Monde;

I cannot help but think, "Golly, don't the two of them just look like they'll make one heckuva positive administration for Jerusalem and for Medinat Yisrael?!?!?"

I mean, talk about a counterbalance to the diplomatic influence of the EU ("Club of Rome/Treaty of Rome"), WOW!!!!!

I mean. Talk about enabling Israel to negotiate from a position of strength, WOW!!!!!

I must say, in spite of my love for the Obama Administration for its pioneering integrity, passion and unending resolve in its committment to the People of the United States, I think I might have to secretly wish a McCain/Leiberman Ticket Hatzlacha Raba.

As Israelis and Yehudim, we have none to espouse our considered, conscientious and, yes, balanced perspective.

When Christians do, they sound so fundamentalist, mindlessly bereft of humanitarian considerations and, well, yes--sorta stupid at times.

It is heartening to know that these Members of the United States Senate have taken such a positive stand against the alarming tide of negativist and biased anti-Israel diplomacy emerging recently from the EU.

I'm torn. Should I support a McCain Leiberman Ticket should one emerge? I mean, I just got my DNC Card with President Obama's picture on it last month in the mail (apparently there was a shortage of them last year--so many wanted them).

Ah, to be a citizen in a democracy--what a life!
