Israelis Increasingly Blame Obama For Tense U.S. Relations
There has been quite a bit written about American Jewry's
growing opposition to the Obama administration's contentious relations with the State of Israel. Along with trying to force Netanyahu to make concessions that would endanger the security of the Jewish State and to take away control over Jerusalem, there is mountain of evidence that the White House is actively trying to unseat the right-wing Netanyahu government. This is why the attacks on Israel are almost always done by criticizing the Prime Minister. This unseemly behavior, trying to topple a democratically elected government, appears to be backfiring.
A left-wing Israeli group has conducted a survey of Israeli opinion and the results are that Israelis fault Obama with the deterioration of relations and they applaud Netanyahu for his efforts to maintain a friendly and constructive relations with the United States.
The War and Peace Index poll shows:
Assessments of how Prime Minister Netanyahu is handling the issue are relatively favorable: the majority - 56% - give him a good or very good grade for managing these relations (33% give him a poor or very poor one while 11% do not know). President Obama, in comparison, gets a good or very good grade from only 43% of the respondents, while 48% give him a poor or very poor grade on managing his relations with Israel (9% do not know).
The poll also shows that President Obama's very favorable numbers have fallen and are quite low.
Good! Netanyahu deserves good grades AND extra credit for the way he's handled himself, Obama, and this entire situation. Obama humiliated and embarrassed US, not the PM. Netanyahu is not my prime minister, and I know NOTHING about Israeli politics, but as an American, I can say that the more Obama and his proxies ranted on, the more respect and admiration I felt for the PM. Prime Minister Netanyahu was an example of "grace under pressure." I'm not alone in feeling admiration for the Prime Minister: I noticed a Facebook group called "Netanyahu for President? Hell, Why Not!".
