Has anyone visited Southern Spain? When the Muslims conquered territories they erected mosques over churches, In Israel they built a mosque on the site of the second temple. Now they will celebrate their 9/11victory by building a mosque at the heart of the US financial district. Hello. Is anybody there? How can this happen? Where are our leaders? Are they all clueless? I agree with Governor Pataki that this mega-mosque is highly inappropriate. This is not an issue of tolerance, nor is it one of freedom of religion. It IS, however, a symbol of Islamic ascendancy - and will be understood as such in the Muslim world. Since the time of Mohammad it has been the Muslim practice of taking over or building mosques on the ruins of symbols of the conquered. These places then become "holy" Islamic shrines. The placement of the mosque in the shadow of the WTC is not by chance. The WTC was not simply a collection of business offices, it was the symbol of American power and dominance. This is why it was targeted - and this is why this site has been chosen.
Additionally, this is only one of the two mega-mosques in the planning stages for lower Manhattan. Has the number of local Muslims grown so great that they can not be accomodated in normal sized houses of worship? I am not aware of any other houses of worship of this size, e.g. Christian, Jewish, Buddhist.

It is my sincere hopes after we have rid ourselves of the Moslem Trojan in the White House, there will be a total reversal of all his having signed into law, especailly this sickening healthcare bill. I believe there should be a reversal of the majority of laws passed during this Obama presidency, and there serious needs of an investigation into many of the Obama liberals presently in the congress and senate. We are not prejudice against any religion, at least I'm not, but I do vehemently object to some religious practices such as human sacrifice, cult brainwashing, bigamy and building Symbols that inspire Suicide bombers, beheadings and incitements to Terrorize.
It is a fact that the love of Allah, Islam and the Koran incited the Terrorists to strike the NY Twin Towers on 9/11/2001 and cause approximately 3000 people to be killed and many of their ashes spread over the killing grounds, never to be found.
It is also a fact that people who claim to be peaceful but would willfully build a Mosque, the Symbol of Allah, Islam and the Koran on the ashes of the dead, killed in the abomination of 9/11 are not peaceful to those who object to insult.
Being a really peaceful people would require understanding of the survivors the families, friends and fellow citizens of those killed, denunciation of the Terrorists and the relinquishment of the plans to build the Mosque on hallowed ground.
We have no objections to Muslims building a Mosque in a different location, at least I do not. BUT to know all our feelings and build it at GZ NY anyway is to break peace with us.

Does it not amount to naked triumphalism and fooling of the West for Muslims, who are globally known to oppose the building of churches in their cities, to want to build an imposing mosque near the spot where fellow Muslims unleashed JIHAD on many innocent ‘kaffirs’ -----is it not a way of showing fellow Muslims in the Third World how powerful Islam is even in a strategic Western city of New York.

Contrary to the proposed mosque's supporters, no mosque anywhere is a 'center for all religions.' A mosque is a sign of triumph over a defeated country or culture. A mosque exterior near GZ is bad enough; what's worse is what goes on inside some mosques: indoctrination of hatred of Christians, Jews, and other non-Muslim infidels. Behind mosque walls, Muslims will be recruited to teach and to spread hatred against America, Americans, and the Western way of life.

How about building the mosque directly top of ground zero? Why push it off a few hundred feet. Maybe they would pay more for the honor. Great for the city's budget, you know.

Oh - and don't worry about the mosque remaining unfinished. Just look a the former site of the temple of King David in Jerusalem. There has been a mosque conveniently placed on top of this most holy place by the Moslems. They also have a full throttle PR campaign on-going for years to fill their brainwashed followers that there was never a Jewish presence on the Temple Mount.

Wow - this is great! In a few decades maybe we won't have to talk about 9/11 any more. The mosque will be our focal point and source of comfort instead.

After doing a lot of research on Islam, trying to cut through the stereotypical thinking that some may have about Islam and after engaging in many friendly one-on-one conversations with Muslims, it can be concluded that many in the West do not have a clue as to what is really going on.

The site of the mosque coupled with the height of the mosque establish a "symbolic dominance" over all other religious structures in a city. Sounds silly? Do your own research. The height of a premier mosque like the one proposed to be built in NYC is especially important.

Below is information adapted from Dr. Peter Hammond's book: Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat. Hammond was born in Cape Town, South Africa in 1960, growing up as a Muslim in what was then called, Rhodesia.

Islam is not a religion, nor is it a cult. In its fullest form, it is a complete, total, 100% system of life.

Islam has religious, legal, political, economic, social, and military components. The religious component is a beard for all of the other components.

Islamization begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious privileges.

When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious privileges, some of the other components tend to creep in as well..

Unfortunately, peace is never achieved, as in these 100% states the most radical Muslims intimidate and spew hatred, and satisfy their blood lust by killing less radical Muslims, for a variety of reasons.

It is important to understand that in some countries, with well under 100% Muslim populations, such as France, the minority Muslim populations live in ghettos, within which they are 100% Muslim, and within which they live by Sharia Law. The national police do not even enter these ghettos. There are no national courts, nor schools, nor non-Muslim religious facilities. In such situations, Muslims do not integrate into the community at large. The children attend madrasses. They learn only the Koran. To even associate with an infidel is a crime punishable with death. Therefore, in some areas of certain nations, Muslim Imams and extremists exercise more power than the national average would indicate.

Today's 1.5 billion Muslims make up 22% of the world's population. But their birth rates dwarf the birth rates of Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, and all other believers. Muslims will exceed 50% of the world's population by the end of this century.

Some readers may view this as "hate speech." Take a look around and counter this with any empirical evidence that provides a reasonable response to what has been posted. We seem to forget that ground zero happens to be a Grave Site. Thousands of human beings perished there and were never recovered. They are still there in every granule of earth on that land. Absolutely NOT should a mosque be built on this grave site. This would be the equivalent of allowing the Japanese to build a place of worship of their religion right on the shore next to the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor! I hope that if thie rediculousness does not stop, and plans go forward to build the mosque...that all union workers (regardless of the fact that it means a job to them) refuse to work on the project.
