Opposition To 9-11 Mosque Grows
Despite a concerted effort by the main stream media, Mayor Bloomberg, and President Obama, opposition to the mosque is increasing among New Yorkers. Today,
Qinnipiac College released the findings of its latest poll of New York State voters.
In addition to 71% saying that the Mosque sponsors should voluntarily move the project, 53 to 39% believe "that because of the sensitivities of 9/11 relatives, Muslims should not be allowed to build the Mosque near Ground Zero."
By coincidence the Mosque Imam, while traveling overseas at United States taxpayer expense, told reporters that his religious beliefs do not permit him to change his plans to build on the present site. Who said Islam is not tolerant? This Imam feels he will be breaking Islamic law if he shuts down the project.
In light of this growing opposition and charges that over $250,000 in back taxes are owed on the property and reports that the Imam is a slum lord, there is little prospect for this Mosque being built now or anytime soon.
