About Us
Our History
When reports began emanating from the negotiations at Camp David that Jerusalem was in danger of being divided, a group of Israelis and Americans decided to mobilize international grass roots support for keeping Jerusalem united under Israeli sovereignty.

One Jerusalem immediately established a website as a central address to unite people from around the world: www.onejerusalem.org. Within a few months, hundreds of thousands of people signed a petition in support of keeping Jerusalem as the united capital of Israel.

In January of 2001, One Jerusalem held its inaugural event, the largest rally in the history of Jerusalem. More than 400,000 people filled the hills around Jerusalem’s Old City for an unprecedented demonstration of support for Israel’s beleaguered capital city, just four months after the launch of a deadly Palestinian-Arab assault against the Jewish state. The world watched as the people pledged their allegiance to the preservation of Jerusalem as the eternal, unified capital of the State of Israel, forever open to all the people of the world.

Since then, One Jerusalem has expanded across the globe by organizing rallies and educational events to promote its urgent and important message. This includes online broadcasts with One Jerusalem leaders like Ministers Natan Sharansky and Benjamin Netanyahu as well as events across the world in cities like London, Rome, New York, Miami and Memphis.

One Jerusalem has hosted educational programs through our speakers bureau and disseminates informational mailings and literature. We are increasing our educational outreach through online web casts as well as by publishing a definitive guide to Jerusalem.

Mission Statement
One Jerusalem is an educational foundation that does not accept government funding and is entirely supported by friends of Israel. We have one objective – maintaining a united Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel. Only Israeli sovereignty will protect access to the holy sites of all three major religions.

One Jerusalem organizes, educates and rallies supporters in Israel and all democratic countries, so that we can educate elected government officials with a powerful voice in support of Israel's claim to sovereignty over Jerusalem

United Jerusalem Petition
  • I support a unified Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty, to ensure free and open access for all people.
  • I support a unified Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty, as an expression of the unique relationship between the Jewish People and its eternal capital.
  • I support a unified Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty, so as never to return to the dark period of 1947-67, when Arab control over an artificially divided Jerusalem meant religious persecution, desecration of holy sites, and wanton destruction.
  • I support a unified Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty, according to the current municipal boundaries, set in the wake of Israel’s defensive 1967 Six Day War.
  • I support a unified Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty, where Jews may enjoy the right to pray on the Temple Mount, the holiest site in the Jewish world.
Preserve The Temple Mount
  • For a decade, Muslim religious authorities have participated in the destruction and elimination of precious Jewish and Christian artifacts on the site of Solomon's Temple, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
  • Thousands of tons of earth, containing archaeological evidence dating back to the period of the Temple of Solomon, were discarded. Among the 'rubble' were ancient seals from a Priestly family, inscribed pottery fragments in Ancient Hebrew, Altar screens and broken columns from a fourth century Byzantine Church.
  • Since the year 2000, the Muslim religious authority – the Waqf - has blocked all archaeological oversight of the Temple Mount.
  • Meanwhile, the Waqf continues to construct Mosques on the sacred sites of Jews and Christians.
  • We believe the international and Israeli media should have unrestricted access to the Temple Mount.
  • We believe the world-respected Israeli Antiquities Authority be empowered to supervise the day to day activities on the Temple Mount.
  • Currently, the Waqf forbids any non-Muslim entrance, except on a selective and very limited basis. For instance, the Waqf does not give any observers access inside the vast subterranean rooms, from which many antiquities have been removed.
  • We demand the preservation and respect of the Temple Mount. Only full access and complete transparency for all parts of the Temple Mount can prevent further abuse and destruction of this site which has been venerated throughout history.
