As international pressure begins to build against Israel's current military actions (so far the Bush Administration has been stellar in its opposition to moves to stop Israel) it is important to understand what caused the current situation and what objectives Israel must achieve.
Writing in ERETZ Magazine, Dr. Boaz Ganor clearly describes the long-term relationship between Israel and Hezbollah. It is important to keep in mind that the kidnapped soldiers triggered the current situation but that many other factors played a role in leading up to this belligerent act.
Dr. Ganor persuasively argues that Israel's goals should be the following:
--- Destruction of Hezbollah's missile system
--- Insuring that Hezbollah will not be able reconstitute its military infrastructure
--- Preventing or minimizing Iranian and Syrian support for Hezbollah
--- Developing an international consensus for labeling Hezzbollah a terrorist organization that is illegitimate and that targets Israel's civilians.
This ambitious agenda is the minimum Israel must accomplish if it is to rid itself of the murderous designs of Hezzbollah. This will not happen if Israel ends its assault on Hezbollah any time soon.
Hezbollah's infrastructure being 'disabled' will last just as long as it takes for Syria and Iran to resupply them.
A U.N. Peacekeeping force in Southern Lebanon? course that will work like it did id 67 and 83 won't it?
We know that we can't leave Iraq unless and until a western-friendly regime is fully in control, but the west will not support Israel staying in Lebanon for very long.
There is no answer outside of G-d's plans that will work !

Israel made a grieve mistake to bomb Lebanon instead of Syria, who is behind the whole affair. Yhe second mistake is not going into Lebanon in FULL FORCE

The 118 - 1 plan. For every Israeli kidnapped, killed or wounded, take out 118 of them to keep it porportionate.

I think Isreal should be allowed to do what Ronald Reagan didn't let them do in 1982. Had Reagan stayed out og Isreal's way in 1982 they would have destroyed the PLO and saved a lot of lives that the PLO murdered in the next 20 years.
Let Isreal destroy Hezbollah.

It's about time that Israel deal "properly" and correctly with a dedicated terrorist organization that is 100 percent intent on the destruction of Israel and all Jewsl

Once the Hezbollah military infastructure is disabled, I would like to see a U.N. Peacmaking force in the southern 20 miles of Lebanon.

Hezbollah must not be able reconstitute its military infrastructure and must be totally disbanded or move
out of the region into iran including their
women and children. They educate their women
who already live in terror of being stoned to
death or beheaded and their children are
educated in how to be a martyr for the
terrorist Hezbolliah terrorist squads.
