Olmert sees prisoner releases as a way of bolstering the Abbas government.
Lt. General Gabi Ashkenazi said that this action will "not bolster Abbas" and he noted that they would be going back to Gaza which has been declared by Israel as "hostile territory." In the past, Ashkenazi has opposed releasing prisoners as long as Israeli soldiers remain prisoners.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Netanyahu criticized the Israeli government's rush to Annapolis. He noted that Abbas and company refuse to recognize Israel as a Jewish State.
One wonders if there are any Red Flags for the Olmert Government. Is there anything Abbas can say or do that will cause Olmert to stop paying this dangerous game of trying to prop up an enemy entity?
If Israel isn't safe then the rest of us aren't either. To give freedom to the enemy who intent to DESTROY us isn't very smart. Land for peace was tried back in the 1930s, it didn't work then and it certainly won't now. Uncle Adi would be so proud of his descendants completing the job he couldn't.

Israel has ignored any/all normal intelligent approaches to negotiations when dealing with pa. Concessions, red lines, time schedules etc have been given to the opposition prior to the actual negotiations. Israel has repeatedly put all cards on the table while the other side has disclosed none of the concessions it will make, Indeed, they state that they will make no concessions. This is unconditional surrender not peace negotiations, and Israel has won the Wars. Can you imagine if Israel lost

Dear friends in Israel,
it is a mistake to release fatah members. For me it is sure that they come back with their guns to kill Israelis. Business as usual.
Treat them in the only way they can understand. With guns and fire.

The Jerusalem Post reports that the Philistinians are already imposing preconditions for their attendance at Rice's Rollover. The principle of negotiation has never been more completely emptied in all of history than it has been by the Palestinians, nor has it ever been more completely surrendered than by Rice. Half of the world chokes by just watching it, but be of good cheer: this is part of the sorting process which G-d said He would send.

Things are coming to a head. Everyone knows and has already said that Olmert is "selling out" Israel. Moshe Feiglin has repeatedly reported that the problem is not the Arabs; rather, it is coming from the Israelis, themselves. Has the United States made concessions and given Texas as well as New Mexico back to the government and peoples of Mexico? Why not? Yerushalayim is Yerushalayim; no ifs and or buts about it. Why make any concessions whatsoever at all? Whose Land is it anyway? If you do not remove them from the Land, they will come back and sting you and do so without relent, forever taking more. I like my steaks, too; as well as my refried beans; but we're not giving up Texas. Yerushalayim is Yerushalayim. Leave it at that. No more vapid and foolhardy concessions; no more concessions at all.
