It is shameful that my countrymen believe giving away Israel or part of Jerusalem and telling the Jewish people that this will bring peace, only shows their ignorance of history. Why was Jerusalem not "occupied" by Jordan until 1967 or Gaza "occupied" by Eqypt or the Golan "occupied by Syria?" Because the people who speak of occupation never had a country or an identity before 1967. Their identity was invented.

Ms Rice was never truthful in her so called mediation of the Middle East issues. We all know this so why do we even entertain her visits ? Let her admit that she personally is not a friend. At least that would be honest.

Cool down guys and gals. Isn't it possible, just possible, that Condi knows that her comments have no binding effect on Israel and that it helps the US not to look too in the bag for Isreal so that it can maintain some semblence of farirness when talking to other side? I'm just saying....

BUSH IS TRYING TO HAVE A TREATY BETWEEN ARABS AND JEWS SIGNED IN THE WHITE HOUSE LAWN TO OBTAIN A PEACE NOBEL PRIZE AT THE EXPENSE OF ISRAEL SECURITY.

Rice has compared Israel to Apartheid South Africa and Israel comes out a villain. Such silly conclusions are not to be dismissed. There is a raging hatred for Jews in the african communities in the U.S. and around the world. She is only mouthing that hatred because she REALLY MEANS IT. i shudder to think what Obama has in store for us. He has already conned the AIPAC folks. First he says that Jerusalem will be undivided and then the next morning he says that Jerusalem is negotiable. I could just vomit every time I see Olmert falling all over himself to please her. He doesn't read the contempt she has for him. John Mc Cain is the only hope that Israel has. He says what he means and means what he says which is a concept foreign to Obama and his wife. Remember my darling Jews that it's no longer next year in Jerusalem but EVERY YEAR.

Rice and Bush ought to be whipped. Since when is it "wrong" for Jewish people in the Jewish capital of the Jewish state to develop housing for Jewish residents. I dunno, maybe I missed something somewhere. (insert sarcasm here)

Israel - ignore 'Condi', ignore Bush. No one has the right to dictate to another country what they should or shoould not do! Bush speaks out of both sides of his mouth, saying he's 'for' Israel, and in the next breath wants them to give away most of their country, along with much of Jerusalem! Get rid of Olmert, before he throws the baby out with the bath water! The Palestinians are not a 'people', they are Arabs being used as pawns by their own people. My heart breaks for Israel and the way she is being used! Israel, know that you have watchmen in other countries praying for you!

I am disappointed in Rice's speach. No one has the right to tell Israel what they can and cannot do within their own country. The USA needs to back Israel 100%. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem and all Israel. Speaking figuitvely, We Christians and (American Jews) need to protect and nourish the roots of our faith else our own branch of the tree cannot thrive.

I whole heartedly agree with all the above, comments.

When you say "Condi," you really mean "Bush." "Condi" is nothing but the mouthpiece for Bush, and is stating the position of the Bush administration. It always gives me a laugh the way Jews For JeezBush are always able to excuse his most anti-Israel actions. In this case, it's to pretend that "Condi" is a rogue agent, when in reality she is only expressing Bush's position.

It would be well for Sec. Rice to review the history of Jerusalem...Jerusalem will remain undivded forever...Let her understand this and become for the next number of months an impartial mediator. Neither she or any other country has the right to tell the Government of Israel or its citizens what they should do...Jerusalem is the Capitol of Israel and as such will continue to remain that without compromise...

Condoleeza Rice aka Bush,Cheney? She ought to be ashamed of herself for many reasons, the last one being her criticism of Israel.

Olmert needs to go before he sells all of Israel for "peace". Rice should be told that Israel will wait until November and then deal with someone who understands foreign affairs.

I am so ashamed of the position my country seems to have taken. As an American citizen, please accept my apology. It seems the U.S. has strayed from its roots in more ways than one. Of paramount importance is our standing with and supporting the Jewish people. Jerusalem does indeed belong to the Jewish people as does the Gaza strip and frankly, much more land than is now in her possession. Forgive us. Please pray for my nation as I continually pray for Israel.

Send Rice and Carter to Gaza

You are absolutely right?? She has shown herself to be woefully ignorant about the historical reality and is causing more harm than good. Israel has the absolute right to do as she pleases in her own country and no one has the right to say yea or nay. I am sick to death of everyone sticking their nose into Israel's business

Israel is the only country in the world whose capital is not recognized. Israel long ago should have flexed it muscle.Israel must become as independent as possible from the US so it can resist US pressure, remember the LAVI ? Israel certainly can not depend on any Rice guarantee, emember Gaza borders Lebanom? plus she is a lame duck. Israel is better served copying abbas and just sit tight making its own demands.

I thought Rice to be an intelligent person. It seems she has been brainwashed to belive that the Palestinian heads of state are really statesmen, and not terrorists in statesmen's clothing. Abbas and his cronies are the authors of the Palestinian hate education rampant in the West Bank and Gaza schools. Like Arafat before, they speak of peace in English, and unbridled hate in Arabic. Israel has done way too much, and given away way too much in past negotiations. For what? Another series in intafadas? Israel should continue to wall off the West Bank, and continue to allow religious freedom and access to al in Jerusalem, and wait until the Palestinians behave like civilized people. They do know how to, but their oppressive leaders choose not to let freedom grow. The Palestinians, the Israelis, and the world have suffered long enough at the hands of these tyrants. It's time for the Palestinians to step up and behave like a people that want to be part of the civilized world.

Hasn't Secretary Rice studied history and religion? Her understanding of the reality on the ground in the Middle East demonstrates a total misconception of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. How can she be so thoughtless in her demands of the Israeli government when the government does not represent the will of the Israeli people? Her demands cannot be met at this time in history; hopefully, they will never be met. An undivided, unified Jerusalem belongs to Israel--that is historical reality. Jerusalem is the capital of the Jewish State of Israel, and at the same time, the holiest place for Jews all over the world--that is the politico-theological reality. No other country has the right to dictate to Israel what it may do with East and West Jerusalem because all of Jerusalem belongs a priori to the Jewish people for more than three thousand years. The Palestinians do not have any right to Jerusalem: they do not even have a country that they can call their own.

  • I support a unified Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty, to ensure free and open access for all people.
  • I support a unified Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty, as an expression of the unique relationship between the Jewish People and its eternal capital.
  • I support a unified Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty, so as never to return to the dark period of 1947-67, when Arab control over an artificially divided Jerusalem meant religious persecution, desecration of holy sites, and wanton destruction.
  • I support a unified Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty, according to the current municipal boundaries, set in the wake of Israel’s defensive 1967 Six Day War.
  • I support a unified Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty, where Jews may enjoy the right to pray on the Temple Mount, the holiest site in the Jewish world.
Preserve The Temple Mount
  • For a decade, Muslim religious authorities have participated in the destruction and elimination of precious Jewish and Christian artifacts on the site of Solomon's Temple, the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.
  • Thousands of tons of earth, containing archaeological evidence dating back to the period of the Temple of Solomon, were discarded. Among the 'rubble' were ancient seals from a Priestly family, inscribed pottery fragments in Ancient Hebrew, Altar screens and broken columns from a fourth century Byzantine Church.
  • Since the year 2000, the Muslim religious authority – the Waqf - has blocked all archaeological oversight of the Temple Mount.
  • Meanwhile, the Waqf continues to construct Mosques on the sacred sites of Jews and Christians.
  • We believe the international and Israeli media should have unrestricted access to the Temple Mount.
  • We believe the world-respected Israeli Antiquities Authority be empowered to supervise the day to day activities on the Temple Mount.
  • Currently, the Waqf forbids any non-Muslim entrance, except on a selective and very limited basis. For instance, the Waqf does not give any observers access inside the vast subterranean rooms, from which many antiquities have been removed.
  • We demand the preservation and respect of the Temple Mount. Only full access and complete transparency for all parts of the Temple Mount can prevent further abuse and destruction of this site which has been venerated throughout history.
